An exciting new event is coming to London shortly, drawing a diverse crowd that includes vegetarians, flexitarians, pescatarians, meat reducers, dairy avoiders, the plant-based curious, third-sector workers, health professionals, allergy sufferers, and numerous environmental and social justice advocates.
At the heart of this gathering is the vibrant vegan community, along with campaigners and activists, as the UK's leading animal and environmental organisations come together for a two day celebration of all things vegan.
Attendees can look forward to a delicious selection of plant based cuisine, alongside performances by comedians, appearances by celebrities, and a variety of entertainment.
“The conference showcases some of the amazing work going on in the multiple sectors of veganism and plant-based lifestyles and it's no wonder that more and more people are attracted to this way of life.”
Says VegfestUK founder Tim Barford.
“Whether you're new to veganism, exploring plant based diets, or looking to increase your plant based intake for health, environmental, food justice, or animal welfare reasons, this weekend promises to be full of passion, laughter, enjoyment, and learning. Expect engaging discussions on serious issues, lively debates, and, of course, some exceptional vegan food!”
Comedians Andrew O'Neil and Carl Donnelly help make up the lighter hearted elements of the show, along with interviews from celebrity vegans including TV presenter Wendy Turner Webster, actor Paul Higgins (Game of Thrones, Line of Duty), Juliet Gellatley (Viva!) and TV Chef & presenter Suzanne Kirlew, plus birthday celebrations with The Vegan Society (80), Viva! (30), Vegan Runners UK (20), Animal Justice Project (10) and special guests Matthew and Jane the founders of Veganuary, the most successful vegan outreach project yet to be created (now 10 years old).
'If you are new to veganism and plant-based diets, get set for a tidal wave of great information, informative workshops and presentations, uplifting company and some terrific speakers and entertainers, with a number of the best vegan street food caterers on hand to enhance the visitor experience even further.” Tim adds.
There's plenty to feed the mind, and plenty for the body too.
If you are new to plant based diets you are in for a most excellent experience with some outstanding options from Greek Vegan Deli, Vegan Sweet Tooth, Doughnutz, Dirty Vurgerz, Macarons, Gillies Chinese, ice cream, superfoods, coffee bars and a real ale bar - all of it suitable for vegans, naturally.
And if you are already vegan? Let's just say you are sorted. Spoilt for choice even, which makes a very pleasant change!
