Imagine how excited we were while enjoying our super break to Stratford upon Avon when we saw a sign for vegan paella! IMG_9533-22-Edit-Edit-5
We headed straight over that night and met with the owner and luckily managed to arrange a table as booking is strongly advised.
The Marina Café and Bistro is run by a vegetarian couple and they cater for everyone. They would ideally love to just be fully vegetarian and vegan so the more of us that book and support them the better!
We stayed at the Holiday Inn during our stay and The Marina Café and Bistro is just across the road from the hotel.
paellea-40The vegan paella was delicious and proves that you really do not need to add animal products to this, (or any dish!)– and will definitely go back when we visit next time.
The Marina Café and Bistro has a good selection of vegan friendly options and we just loved our vegan paella and extra side orders.
A 2 minute walk from the holiday Inn and overlooking the river Avon we could have been in Spain, a warm evening and lovely Spanish music – and fantastic value of £25 for 2 the vegan paella set menu also includes bread, olives and olive oil for dipping and sangria – although we can’t confirm if the Sangria is vegan at the moment!
We added to our set menu and loved the home marinated olives, sun-dried tomatoes, artichokes and seasoned potato wedges.
Staying at The Holiday Inn was perfect with its very central location. We parked the car and didn’t need it again until we left 3 days later. There is plenty to see and do in the main part of the town and all within walking distance from the hotel. The hotel caters very well for vegans too so you can enjoy the food at the hotel and at the Marina too.
Stratford Upon Avon is set in the gorgeous Warwickshire countryside on the banks of the river Avon and makes for the ideal long weekend getaway for couples and families.
