Banks should throw in the towel, says Which?

As the judges in the bank charges test case appeal rule in favour of the OFT,

Which? chief executive Peter Vicary-Smith, says:

“The courts have made it clear the banks should now throw in the towel. This case has been going on too long and it’s about time they tried to regain some of their dignity and paid customers their dues.

“This whole saga has severely damaged the banks’ reputations. If they try to appeal in the face of such a clear decision, they will suffer further losses in the court of public opinion.”

What will happen next?

The banks have the option to appeal the decision at the House of Lords. If this happens then the FSA waiver* is likely to remain in place during the appeals process. This means that all pending cases in the county courts or with FOS are likely to stay on hold and banks will continue to charge overdraft fees.

If the banks decide not to appeal, then their Terms & Conditions will be assessed for fairness. Where current terms are unfair, the OFT will agree a fair charging regime with the banks – effectively placing a cap on the level of overdraft fees. This will be similar to the approach taken for credit card late payment fees.

*The FSA waiver, which has been in place since the test case was announced in July 2007, means that banks can continue to charge people for slipping into an unauthorised overdraft while consumer complaints remain on hold. If the banks decide to appeal, then it is highly likely that the waiver will remain in place until the appeals process has run its course.

A sliced Carrot looks like the human eye

Monday, January 26. 2009

Hello!

A huge thanks to the guys that sent this in - We just think its FAB! Is it all completely true? - check it out and enjoy either way!

Cheers Karin x

A sliced Carrot looks like the human eye.

The pupil, iris and radiating lines look just like the human eye... and YES, science now shows carrots greatly enhance blood flow to and function of the eyes.

A Tomato has four chambers and is red.

The heart has four chambers and is red. All of the research shows tomatoes are loaded with lycopine and are indeed pure heart and blood food.

Grapes hang in a cluster that has the shape of the heart.
Each grape looks like a blood cell and all of the research today shows grapes are also profound heart and blood vitalizing food.

A Walnut looks like a little brain, a left and right hemisphere, upper cerebrums and lower cerebellums.

Even the wrinkles or folds on the nut are just like the neo-cortex. We now know walnuts help develop more than three (3) dozen neuron-transmitters for brain function.

Kidney Beans actually heal and help maintain kidney function and yes, they look exactly like the human kidneys.

Celery, Bok Choy, Rhubarb and many more look just like bones. These foods specifically target bone strength. Bones are 23% sodium and these foods are 23% sodium. If you don't have enough sodium in your diet, the body pulls it from the bones, thus making them weak.

These foods replenish the skeletal needs of the body.

Avocadoes, Eggplant and Pears target the health and function of the womb and cervix of the female - they look just like these organs.

Today's research shows that when a woman eats one avocado a week, it balances hormones, sheds unwanted birth weight, and prevents cervical cancers. And how profound is this? It takes exactly nine (9) months to grow an avocado from blossom to ripened fruit. There are over 14,000 photolytic chemical constituents of nutrition in each one of these foods (modern science has only studied and named about 141 of them).

Figs are full of seeds and hang in twos when they grow.

Figs increase the mobility of male sperm and increase the numbers of Sperm as well to overcome male sterility.

Sweet Potatoes look like the pancreas and actually balance the glycemic index of diabetics.

Olives assist the health and function of the ovaries

Oranges, Grapefruits, and other Citrus fruits look just l ike the mammary glands of the female and actually assist the health of the breasts and the movement of lymph in and out of the breasts.

Onions look like the body's cells.

Today's research shows onions help clear waste materials from all of the body cells. They even produce tears which wash the epithelial layers of the eyes.

A working companion, Garlic, also helps eliminate waste materials and dangerous free radicals from the body.

You can check out more here too - Enjoy!

Did You Have An Outstanding Time?!

The future depends on what we do in the present. - Mahatma Gandhi

Wow – what a show – We are still recovering and the Bristol Vegan Fayre was now last weekend!

Please do drop us a line if you took any film clips as we would love to see them.

We had a super time, how wonderful to see so many likeminded people- and it was great that so many viewers came up and said hi as well.

We welcome all of the new people that signed up or took flyers away – thanks so much for your support – there is much more coming soon to VeggieVision.

We had an amazing team of presenters and film crew who worked flat out as well as a super bunch of helpers that worked on the stall. We prepared about 150 goody bags for all the stall holders as well and that took a lot of time as we had so much to give away!

Can you believe that we were in a vegan fayre and I wasn’t able to eat! I was tooo excited! I did fall in love though – did you have those amazing vegan cream eggs – I bought several bulk orders. And those vegan trifles :-O)  Yum!

If we filmed with you we will let you know as soon as possible about the content – it is for the new look so please bear with us.

We had such a great time and look forward to being at many more events this year. If you would like to get involved please let us know!

Thanks again to all of the super VeggieVision team and for your positive feedback – It really inspired us to move forward.

Have a great day and spk soon
